Best not assume that even those at WalMart are parasite free. Hogs are notorious dissease carriers and should always be cooked thoroughly regardless of source. Properly cooked, both wild and domestic porkers are quite safe but you should always assume they carry something and prepare them accordingly.
Slow cooked in a crock pot with onions, peppers, and pineapple it is surely hard to beat. Add a little sugar and a bit of worcestershire sauce and thicken the juices with a bit of corn starch then serve over rice. Ymmmm!

More people get lime disease hunting deer, next time you get Bambi check her for ticks. I don't know of any kind of meat that doesn't have parasites. Heck, you have parasites.
