Hey Stewart, no apology needed partner. Just remember in the future how you approach the subject about Can Hunting on HNI. There are many on here that will attack you on the subject.
ARE HIGH FENCE RANCHES STILL FUN TO HUNT ON?
My apologies for my reply to your post if you found it offensive!, But I did mentioned that if that is your only way, go for it!

Rebel,
The forum "Hogs and Exotics" leads one to believe that exotics, because theyare not free ranging animals in the US with the exception of Texas, are hunted in preserves. How then does one discuss exotics in this forum if the origin of the hunt/animal is to be criticized?
The place I went to had huge whitetails and elk. The proprieter offered me a crack at a bull elk that easily went 370" for $5500.00. I said, why so cheap? He said the bull had to go because it killed two other big bulls during the rut and cost him too much money in the loss. I politely passed on his offer. He thought I was crazy becausethe offer was $3000 less than the originalprice tag on that bull.In this instance, my big game morals would not let me shoot that elk or any preserve deer for that matter. I'll take a chance on a guided elkhunt in MO or NM for $5500.00 and see what I get the traditional way.
You have the opportunity to take hog hunting more seriously than I do. When time and funds allow, I'll venture my way down south somewhere and hunt a hog/boar the traditional way( no spears).
I assure you, all the whitetails, mulies, pronghorns, and bear I shotare fair chase. The hogs are not.

I have been Bowhunting so long I have heard almost everything & some issues will never be resolved. I remember Bowhunting b/4 the can but yes, I have used it a few times in the last few years-1000 acre & up can....I have also done the DIY public land thing like 1 million times forElk, Black Bear, Mule Deer, Whitetail, hogs & more. Great sport if you don't let the trouble makers bother you. Good Luck to all in 2007.

Roger that, ipscshooter. That ain't hunting. I don't blame 358winman for defending himself, though it did get pretty ugly there for a bit. Tell you what Stewart, make your way down to Northwest Florida and we can scare up some hogs on the reservation this fall. Bow season starts end of October, and lasts a few days. General Gun season starts Dec. 6th. You can hunt em all year on private land, but they are more plentiful in central Florida. I mostly hunt the WMAs and Eglin AFB land, and there is a strict season in both.
