RE: 358 Winchester Strikes Again!!!
FLOutlander: Thanks for the supportive words. These southern boys think they are the only outdoorsmen in the USA!
The ram has beautiful colors in a combination of black, white and a coppery brown. The horns are heart shaped when looking head on at them. From the side, they resemble the curl of a bighorn or stone sheep. You could probably find a good picture if you looked up Mouflon Ram on the internet.
They are quite extraordinary in their beauty as exotic rams go. I find them most appealing of all the goat/ram exotics that I have seen. The only other ram that I find more beautiful is the Aoudad which can be hunted in Texas.
As for the PIG and the Rebel, call me what you will... I can hunt as well if not better than YALL and will put my rifle/shotgun/archery marksmanship up against either one of you anytime.
This forum is an excellent example of why anti's and PETA's are so successful in their battle against us. Elitist, narrowminded hunters who condemn other hunters rather than sticking together and showing support for all hunters who go afield regardless of their quest, quarry or choice of weoponry. Bully for you that you can hunt elk for $200.00. I don't have that LUXERY, so, I must book a trip out west and spend hard earned money to get one. Residents can buy a tag over the counter for a lot less money. Non-residents have to pay huge fees and draw a tag. That fair?
In my opinion, its not, but if one wants to hunt what the USA has to offer he or she has to spend themoney.
If you're fortunate enough to have all you want in your state, well kudos to you then! But, if thats where you stay all the time to hunt, I feel sorry for you. Take some of your journalism income and hunt the west or Canada or Alaska or some other place where you can take in the sights, sounds and experiences of a new land and new game to pursue.
As far as trophy hunting goes, I laugh in your face... I hunt the same game as every other hunter I know and eat all I shoot. I also donate venison every year to charity venison dinners and feed the hungary programs. Do you?
Bragging and sharing one's hunting experience on a forum are two different things. As a journalist, I'd have thought you couldcomprehend the difference. Guess not!!!

358, I can tell you are on the verge of exploding, and making fun of people just because they have more "luxuries" then you, is pretty childish, you say you can hunt just as well as us? I've been hunting for close to 35 years, and have been to Camp Perry once, I'm willing to bet I've been hunting hogs, longer than you have been born, there is no need to condemn Rebel Hog, and I, you are obviously a trophy hunter, who just keeps the meat, keep on talking, "can hunter", you have no respect for the game you hunt, and it shows, paying money to hunt a non native animal in a pen, is just ridiculous.

As far as your Marksmanship, well I served in two branches of the military and have fired more weapons than you will ever shoot![8D]It sounds to me that you're just a Wa-Na-Be![8D]

Firing lots of weapons doesn't necessarily equate to "marksmanship."

you are obviously a trophy hunter, who just keeps the meat,
You guys are obviously letting your emotions control and are typing faster than your brains can process... It's great that y'all can hunt wild pigs whenever and wherever you want, but, there are lots of states where there are no wild pigs. In those cases, the only places where you can hunt them is on preserves where they import wild pigs from elsewhere. And, from the details in this gentleman's story, you have NO idea how large the place was, so you have no business calling him names like "can hunter" or for questioning motives, respect for game, etc.

Sorry, RH. I guess maybe I, and perhaps he, focused on the first part of your post, which seemed to question whyhe wouldpay to hunt hogs and imply that he is a lesser hunter. And, I read this second page first, so my interpretation may have been a bit tainted... My mistake, and I apologize.
The sentence of mine which you quote was really directed more to Pighunter56.
