Default I have a question

How many of you have ever hunted hogs on foot with home made draws, with nothing more than a rope or knife??? If you are from Louisiana and hunt hogs, you have probably at least seen it. I did it on my land in Louisiana a couple of times with an older man.

I heard of another way that is done in Germany, I think in ancient times. Can't find any info on it though. Something about only using a walking stick. Aggitating e'm with the stick, sweeping the front legs, holding them down with the stick and then a slice to the throat. Anybody hear of this or is somebody pulling my leg?

My land is in Turkey Creek. Near Villplat and south of Alexandrea.

That is kinda like it. What these old coonasses did was to cut out a draw in the woods and line it with hog wire of cattle panels. You set a block so when the hogs are rounded up, they have only one direction to go. The draw is made into a funnel. The idea is to catch the hogs as they pass the opening to the draw and run at them. Once in the draw they get funneled into a bottle neck. Once there, they sweep the feet, jump on them and use a knee to hold them down while others either tie them up or cut their throat. I did once with my cousine and some of his friends. It has creates the same rush as running them with dogs, except you have to distract them instead of the dogs.
