RE: Hog Calls
Primos sells 2 different hog calls. A squeal and a grunt. I have both but have not had the opportunity to try them out yet. Hogs are very unpredictable where I live so I am not sure that they will work, but when I get a chance to try them out I will let you know!

RE: Hog Calls
Chuck, I have the Knight&Hale call and tapes. They havebeen in the truck for
10yrs. I use to listen to the vocalazation tapes while driving. They teach you
what all the sounds they make means to them, it's like learning thier language.
I don't use the call, but I learned thier language. It use to drive my wife crazy,
when she was in the truck with me. Instead of listening to the radio, listen to
the cassettes while driving. I use to have a blast when I use to come to a traffic
light and turned the volume up, and pepole wouldlook and wonderwhere the heck
are them hog sounds andsqueals comming from?
The tapeswill really teach you thier communications among them.

RE: Hog Calls
Let me know. Last year i read an article that implied there are really no hog calls yet on the market that work. I blew mine last year and had a hog answer back but he never came.

Neat...I have the Knight and Hale call and only had one boar answer but he did not come. I'll be out in the swamp Sept 24th.

Like I said, forget the call and learn thier vocalazations. You can smell a fresh
wallow 75yds away. I mostly hunted hogs with dogs and the dogs in thier boxes
would let me know when they picked up thefresh scents. They would go ballistic
and wanted to be let out of thier boxes.
When I was hog hunting I would concentrate on hogs, not deer. Deer is totally
a different hunt.
Chuck, another thing, don't ever shoot a piggy sow, the little ones won't make
it untill they are weaned.

RE: Hog Calls
Hunter, you have to learn thier vocalizations and what they mean first, before
anyone uses one. They have about 10 different communicating sounds that
means something to them. You might be blowing a Warning sound to them.
When you hunt with dogs, you don't have to worry about that, but if you don't
then it's a different story. Hunt safe good buddy and good luck.RH
