Accubond after shot....PICS!
I went to the range today to work on a load for my 257 Bob. I think I found a load, but I wanted to share with all of you what a 110gr Accubond looks like after hitting sand and sandstone. I was rather impressed how well they held up considering what they were hitting.
BTW, the loads I have selected so far with this bullet are:
1) 47.5gr Reloader 19, W-W brass, Rem. 9-1/2 Primers, seated to 2.835
2) 37.5gr IMR 4064.....everything else is the same.
I don't have a chrony, so I have no idea what these loads produce velocity wise, but the first load is a tad over max and the second is 1gr under max. No signs of pressure. I'm going to work with them a little more before I settle one.
Here's the pic:
From left to right: 55.9gr, 53.1gr, 53.2gr, & 46.2gr.

I swear I took at least a dozen pics and this is the best one.....you'd think for what I paid for that damn camera it would take pictures for me! It obviously doesn't like to take close ups.....I just got an idea, pic may change!

A local shop has them for more than any online source($17.99), but they have a couple of boxes left. I can give you there info if you like. I would think you could have a shop close to you get them for you or are you saying nobody can get them for you either? I know Midway and Cabela's are both out of stock. You might be able to get them directly from Nosler, but I'm not sure about that. For as much as I'll shoot them the cost isn't prohibitive, but I load up cheap bullets for just shooting anyway.
BTW, pic is fixed....forgot about that MACRO function.[&:]

You can buy them right from Nosler, but alas, they're out of stock too. Hope they tool up for them soon....I only have 8 left and need to load up 100 rounds. I suppose it's not the end of the world though, I have until November. They should surely have them re-run by then.
