Yep, Llamas are decent pistols for the price. Some models or lots are a little rough, but they all take FMJ's pretty well. A cheap pistol shooting hardball is better than no pistol at all.

As for you, I'd definitely take a look at the Springfield GI 1911-A1. It's not the fanciest, but it'll get the job done when you need it. My grandpa has one (says it reminds him of a nicer version of his issue from WW2) and swears by it.

Only one detractor. I saw quite a few of them at the combat shoots I attended. They all shot pretty good and functioned well to boot.
