oldelk, I didn't mean the the Mauser action isn't a good piece. It is one of the best! It's just that they are soooo big. If you spend the money on a fine, moden rifle the big 98's sometimes are out of place compared to many of the streamlined actions like Sako and Remington 700's.

I dunno, savage actions look a lot less streamlined and certainly a lot clunkier than a mauser, not to mention that winchesters and rugers are just cheap copies of mauser actions

Remington 700 are by far the most used action when building a gun. Pretty tough action. I myself would choose a 700 because of the durability.
