257 Shooting Times Westerner
Does anyone out there have any experience or hearsay info on the 257STW? As usual, I am considering a custom rifle purchase and this caliber caught my eye. I'm assuming tha it's a 7mm STW necked down. Any opinions?

About a year ago, there was a 30 minute program on one of those cable outdoor channels that showed a hunter using a .257 STW in Africa. He was using 120 grain Swift A-Frame bullets (which, at full throttle, would be going around 3700 FPS) and taking animals that are normally engaged with guns in the .375 H & H class. He shot a Kudu and two other big plains critters - each with one shot through the shoulders - all three dropped in their tracks. I remember commenting on what a testimonial that was to the development of premium bullets . . . .
