Is this a good price for a 30-06?!?!?!
My dads friend has a rifle for sale and it is a winchester model 70bolt action. It has a wooden stock with no scratches on it really nice shape. Blued barrel, and a 3-9x40 leupold scope. and it is about $700 dollars. and only about 20rounds have been shot out of it.

MSRP on a new Winchester Model 70 Classic Sporter in 30-06 Sprg. is $727.00, the Classic Featherweight is $800.00, and the Classic Super Grade is $995.00.
MSRP for a New Leupold VXII 3-9x40 is $259.00, and a VXI is $194.00.
One of the components making this deal advantagous may be the scope, and also if the rifle is mechanically sound along with the bore.
If the rifle is a sound Model 70 Pre-64, or Model 70 Classic Super Grade I would purchase it.
If you look around you can locate better prices than mentioned above on the rifles, and maybe the scopes.
Take the rifle to a gunsmith and obtain his opinion on the bore, ect.
Good luck.

I could easily see someone around here being able to get a similar setup brand new for not much more than that either. I would look for something new, for that price, or see if you could talk him down a bit.
