Thanks Rebel...After reading the #'s I'll pass on these...I was hoping these would have competetive trajectories.....There are already many sabots on the market with far better ballistice.

Rebel hog...I would avoid those KO's...the ballastics are horrible even for a slug gun. Talk about a rainbow...the numbers they state are -5in at 0m, +4.5in at 50m, -12in at 100m.
Ko's look suspiciously like the brenneke slugs I used to use in smoothbores..they probably had a lot of drop in them but it didn't matter at 40 yards and talk about dropping deer.

Rebel...I assumed you would be using these for deer. However if we are talking hogs just look at the energy #'s instead of trajectory...

Given todays sabot technology, allowing sub-caliber projectiles, trajectories like these should already be a thing of the past. Modern sabots can already be loaded with premium bullets allowing almost 100% weight retention, and rifle like ballistics.
Historically the problem has been finding a gun /sabot combination that works well. With todays longer barrels and premium bullets not only are the trajectories becoming mush flatter but accuracy in most guns is improving markedly.
Although this specific Sabot may not shoot well in your gun, there are many others capable of these balistics...

This is what I shoot currently....

Remmington Core-Lokt Ultras....

BALLISTICS
Velocity (fps) Energy (ft-lb) Drop (in.)
Muz. 50 100 Muz. 50 100 50 100 150
12ga 1770 1648 3086 2682 2325 1.8 2.4 0.0â€*

And NO that is not a typo. These do retain TWICE THE ENERGY at 100yds
And YES that is correct. These can be ZEROED AT 150 YDS !

Make no mistake about it, anyone of the Sabots will kill things, but for 12$ a box I want everything I can get....

JCC,
I use the WINCHESTER BRI SABOTS in my BRN A-5 12ga 2 3/4" with a Hastings Paradox
barrel and a Simmons 44MAG scope for deer when I don't want to take the Ruger
6.5mmSwed.
I have a 200yd range here at home and can bust Flood Lamp Bulbs which are around
4" in Dia.@ 200yds. with it. I just wanted to ask if someone else was using something
better. This is the only FORUM I'm in and it's enough for me and kinda like the advice's
given here.

Sounds like a helluva shooter you got there, i'm hoping for similar results from the H&R Ultra Slug Hunter i'm getting ready to buy. I plan on topping it with a Mueller scope (i forget the model name) and will probably be shooting Federal Barnes Expander sabots, as they have the best 20ga ballistics i have seen to date, and still hold over 950 lb-ft energy at 200yds, with a tolerable amount of drop at that range if zeroed at 125 yds (-11.4"), not bad at all for a 20ga as long as accuracy measures up as well.
I'll post results when i get it all setup and zeroed

ShootStuff,
The last few years I broke-out the A-5 from the safe and started shooting it
again.Bought a Hastings Paradox barrel for it and scoped it.
I was trying to preserve it all I could, but what the HAY! at 65 I'm going to enjoy
it all I can.My friends tell me I'm crazy for using it,I tell them I'm crazy about the
fun I'm having with it. I also have the Moss 835 with a Rifled Barrel and scope,
but the A-5 gives me a better group.
I have many shotguns of all brands and they will be my son's when my last
sunrise gets here.

Shootstuff... Just remember they make a .6 and .7oz version of that Sabot. The 6oz is the one I think your mentioning. The .7oz falls to 900fps at 125. You don't want to mix those two up.

Also, I don't want Rebel to think I am beating a dead horse here, but you mentioned that those slugs.."have the best 20ga ballistics i have seen to date". You should take a look at the Remingtons I mentioned above. I believe you will find they have better balistice even in the 20ga.

yep, the lighter 1900fps 3" slug is the one in question, i have the full ballistics catalogue from Federal's site, so i have all the specs on them
