barnes triple shock in a .308 ?
hey guys i was wondering if the triple shock will work good for pennsylvania deer. i was looking at either 130 or 150 grain. (more into the 130) what do u guys think. my biggest concern was weither or not it would open up in a deer w/out hitting bone or something hard. ive also heard copper fouling is less than the regular x bullet. ? thanks guys. i gotta go snow blow. dang snow storms.

My Dad has used the original X in 130 out of his 308 for a number of years. He has yet to recover a bullet from a deer. So far all shots have been pass thru. He also hasn't lost any deer. Over our Chrony he gets a little over 3000 fps out a 22" barreled Win. Mod 70 Featherweight.

These sports writers now days , have the general public wanting to clean there guns more than they shoot them. This copper fouling rage is all a lot of hoop lah to sell stuff. The bullets work real well, and i would go with the 130gr.as you were thinking of using. Just load them and go out and shoot and have fun,Then just clean your gun and you don,t have to make a big production on cleaning it. vangunsmith

Not sure about the 308. I have some 150 for my 300wsm and 100 grain for my 25-06.
shot 3 this year with the 25-06 1 neck, 1 double lung, 1 double shoulder and at 3400fps they performed very well. Good channel would and "exit" hole. Very good blood trail on the double lunger (40yrds). You can guess how far the other two went. Also shot a 400lb hog thru the head with 25-06. Triple shocks have got me using barnes again, good accuracy and impack performance. Have the 300wsm done now and hope to use the 150s on some animals this coming season.
