If it were me I would look at a Thompson Center or a Knight. Specifically the T/C Omega or if you want interchangeable centerfire barrels the T/C Encore. If you prefer the Knight the Disc Elite or Disc Extreme are excellent muzzleloaders too!

For the money, you can't beat the Wolverine 209. Does the exact same thing a disc does. You don't need a bolt handle on a ML. Its for pure looks. I have a disc elite and wolverine, Tc hawken. Both knights are equal performance. Both shoot the same 209 setup.

The disc is freebarreled and the wolverine can be bedded to equal.

I am not a black diamond fan which I consider the wolverine competition. I have just seen too many not shoot well.

I have been able to get my disc to shoot 3-777 pellets and 250gr barnes expander less than 2MOA groups at 100 yards.

I have a CVA .50 cal. Mag and I love it. Was shooting about 2-2.5" groups at 100yds. For the rifle and starter kit it was right around $200. The starter kit has like 16 rounds, cleaning supplies, starter video. All you need to buy is primers and powder. Plus the CVA takes the 209 shotgun primers, much easier to use. I love mine.

Geeeeeeeeeeeez times change I bought a kodiak 50 (cva) and liked it a lot it's not an Omega but it's easy to clean and shoots well. It's now gone from my closet.

Now there's an NEF Handi-rifle ,223 HB that 's a shooter.Hold on to your camo shorts but for $100 I can send it to NEF and they will put a .50 cal ML 209 primer on it.

What this means is I can have an American made muzzle loader ,.223 varmint gun and a .308 deer rifle or an Omega, what's not to like?

all the best,
lizzzard

You can get a TC Omega on Natchez's web site for $310, that would be a heck of the gun for the money... They also have a Knight DISC elite for $210, but it is out of stock.
