RE: Remington PSS .308 w/26" barrel
I had one. I don't like the stock. Its a H-S which is great but in my opinon, all the varmiter and PSS H-S stock have way too wide a hand grip. Especially if you get that PSS in a RUM. It shot pretty good. I like the parkerizing. I think one shot on here does a accuratizing on them regularly and said he makes them into subMOA shooters with factory loads by recrowning, and ensureing the headspace and all is correct.
Still got that plastic trigger guard.
One thing I have notices lately, is the a few PSS's I have picked up have been bedded horribly. Mine wasn't but you can see the gap differences in the forarm area.

I would be interested in what you guys thought as well...
I almost purchased a used one at my local gun store... It had a Leupold VX-III 3x9 scope on it and they wanted $800, seemed like a good deal, but the gun showed some wear and it was pretty damn heavy, so I passed on it at the time, it was a police trade actually.

These are about as close to a "target rifle" as a regular production rifle gets. The PSS stands for Police Sharp Shooter, the gun is made for police snipers. I bought one for $750 naked three years ago. It shot 1" groups at 100yrds off a bench with ease, after a hundred rounds or so it jumped down to .6". I took it to my gunsmith and had him check the action and re-bed the rifle. He said the action was about as true as he'd ever seen, and the glass bedding brought me down to a ragged hole group at 100yrds. Barring the scope and mounts, I've spent right around $1K on it. I've spent that much on a Savage Target rifle in .300win mag that doesn't shoot quite as well, after a LOT more modifications!

I have a .308 Rem 700P, I put a Leupold 4.5-14X50mm (30mm tube) Vari-X III Tactical Scope on it w/ Badger Ordinance base & rings. Harris Bi-pod. It's basically the same rifle I have at work, I just wanted my own. It shoots 1/2 MOA out of the box w/ Federal Premium 168gr Gold Match Bullets.
