RE: Power Points or Core Lokt's
An i love that dirty thirty too, for its accuracy lol it was one of those walmart exclusive marlin 30-30's they had about 10 years ago my dad got it for me for my 15th birthday. I had a scope on it for a long time and it shot great with a scope about the same kind of groups maybe a little tighter the one year I missed a big buck because i couldnt find it in my scope duh!!! i had the power setting on 9 power lol but i decided to take the scope off and see how it did with open sights at 100 yards and it consistantly punches groups like that so i never bothered putting a scope back on it. its a great little gun and i wouldnt trade it for the world.

I would pick the Power Points mainly because I can't stand Core-Lokt's. I've never liked and will not shoot any Remington ammo.

eldegullo and Charley, i was thinking about a 180 grain bullet out of the 300 win mag because of the higher velocities and close range shots
Also who said the deer in Texas are small? Dimmit county in South Texas has produced the second most booners out of all counties in the usa
