What muzzeloader would you buy? That could be either a kit or just the gun. My girlfriend's mom wants to get her dad a muzzleloader (inline) for christmas for around 2-3 hundred dollers. He has never shot one before and doesn't know much about them, so one thats easy to take apart and clean and operate would be nice.

There's really a huge selection in that price range. Look into T/C Black Diamonds and Knight Wolverines -- good American-made guns.

CVA, Winchester, Traditions, Bushwakca, etc. are Spanish made guns, and a lot of guys love them... They're well within your price range too.

Personally, I chose to go with Thompson Center.

If i were you, I would go with a cva optima. These guns are very great guns for the price. I just got mine this year for 230$. I lined it in a few weeks ago and its a real tack driver. It drove 245gr powerbelt bullets hole for hole at 100 yards. They come in synthetic or camo stock, with a blued or nickle barrel and reciever. Definately check out this gun. Its so much easier to clean and load where its a break open action.

I know you can get a scoped bore sighted Knight for that price at one of our local shops. Shouldn't be too much different in your area. I shot the unscoped version of that rifle...an inline and it was impressive. So much so, that I am buying one this year.
