Default Sending gun back to the Factory ???

I am going to have to send my Browning back to the company. I need to know the best way to pack the gun should I just rap the factoy box in brown paper and ship it or place the factory box in a larger box and ship it. which is best??

Put it in it's original box and wrap it in either bubble wrap or a layer of cardboard. Wrap the outside with a layer of brown wrapping paper and tape it up real good. Insure it and hope for the best.

I have only sent one firearm back to the manufacturer. I was actually advised to package the rifle in it's hard case, wrap that in brown paper or cardboard (just to keep the case from getting dinged up), and send it out via an authorized UPS drop site.
The shipping cost and label was all taken care of by the manufacturer.

Do not send a rifle back to the factory in a hard case unless you don't care about getting the case back. Most manufacturers even say this in their shipping instructions. They aren't responsible for cases, scopes, slings, etc. so there is a good chance you will never see them again.

Hello C-Ray
if you send it back in the card board box
also tape a shipping label to the gun or the bubble wrap covering it . saved my butt one time when the card board box was mostly destroyed.

Fizzellr, when I contacted the company they said to ship it in a cardboard box they would not take respondabilty for hard cases.

hunter_in_ky I am going to insure it for about 800.00 I hope it get lost. Then I could buy a new Rem.
I live about 20 min from Russell Spring lower part of Jamestown.

old 3 shoot I am going to place a letter in the box with my shipping address on it.

Thanks again.

Bushmaster rifles are shipped in a hard case as it is a free accessory with the purchase of the rifle. Perhaps that is why they advised to ship it back the same way.
