I don't have the browning but I do have the 270 weatherby mag in a Weatherby Vanguard VGX. I love love love this gun. It is my most favorite of all that I have right now. It is a screamer. You could hunt anything in NA and most of Africa and not need more.

Been considering a Weatherby 270 mag in a bolt gun myself, but have yet to take the plunge.

How much do the shells usually cost per box? It looks like an interesting all around gun.

Viper2000 If the ammunition is Weatherby they will be pricey. In MidSouth's catlog/270 Weatherby with Hornady bullets 28.29 with Nosler Bullets 31.98 to 40.59 and with Barnes Bullets they run 40.59.These are boxes of 20 rounds. That's out of their 2001 catalog Ruger Redhawk

Anyone wanting this type of gun may want to look at the new .270 WSM. Ballistics look pretty impressing.
