Default Took the new 260 to the range

After getting the triger job done I took the Ruger all weather 260 to the range. I mounted my M8 4X33 Luepold scope on it and bore sighted here at home. It only took a couple shots to bring it to Zero one inch high at 100 yards. I had a box of Remington 120 grain Accu-tips. It shot a couple three shot groups of 0ne inch or a hair over. Pretty good for being short at least one sand bag. Wind was calm and it got to 70 here in ND. Thats unbielievable up here. I am happy with this gun and I will load 120 Nosler Ballistic tips to try first. Its good to have spring about here. I also shot my new Handi rifle in 47-70. It printed One big hole for three shots at 50 yards. I just fired one round at 100 but it was dead center and two inches low. It was two inches high at 50 yards. These were factory Federal 300 gr Speer hot core HP. This is a pretty hot load compared to the factory 300 WW HP that I shot the other day. Anyway a good day to be out there and everything went well.

Thanks for the report.....I've yet to fire my .260.....waiting for a lot of things.....bluing, glass bedding, and a lot more but patience will prevail.

I hope you bag a big one with your .260

I sure like it. I have had it for eight months but the trigger needed reworked. I just got it back from SODAK in Aberdeen. The guy did a good job on the trigger. No creep at all and I would quess about a three lb pull. I am used to more power on the scope. The 4x may not be on there long. I quess for hunting its pleny of power but at the range on targets its a little hard to get used to.

James glad you got the 260 ready to go.You should have a great shooter there.I had one in a ruger but traded it for a rem in bdl ss with a 24 in barrel, had one in rem mtn rifle too,and all shot very good.Getting ready to go shoot my 260 and a couple wsm's this morning.
If you want to try a 120 gr bullet in it try some R-19 it works great in mine.
Vapodog let us know how yours does when you get it going.
