Both are excellent cartridges, My hunting down south is primarily whitetails and I prefer a 270Win.For larger animals I would go with the 308 for the bigger bullet and selections.Either one you choose will serve you well.Check out a 7mm Rem Mag or 7mm08. Both would be another good choice.
