Glock 22 or 27???????
Guys,
I am looking at getting a Glock 22 or 27. What do you guys think?
The gun will primarily be a "nightstand" or "truck" gun. On occasion, a CCW.
I like the Glock for is simplicity and ease of use. The 40 caliber seems like a good compromise between 9mm and 45 cal.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Glock 22 or 27???????
I have a Baby Glock Model 27 for my primary CCW gun.It shoots well and is very reliable.I use a Uncle Mike's Inside the Pants holster which I can carry all day with no discomfort to speak of. I use Federal Hydra Shoks. My Glock has Trijicon Night Sights. To me the night sights are a must . Chances are if you need to use your gun for self defense it will most likely be night time. The 40S&W is a great denfense round. I personally have no use for a 9mm for defense. There has been to many stories where the 9mm wasn't enough when needed.I have never shot a Model 22 so I can't comment.I high recommend the Baby Glock. My night sights are 8 years old and still bright.

I own a model 22 for work, and absolutely love it. A great shooting gun. I have also shot the 27, and I like it alot. A very accurate gun in a compact size. If I were going to buy one for CCW purposes, I would go with the 27. The 22 gets very uncomfortable to carry for an extended time.
RR, have you tested the Hydro-Shoks on anything? We have discontinued using them at work. We tested several different bullets, and the hydo's wouldnt expand for us on everything from deer, to water, to gelatin. The Rem Golden Sabers, and the PMC Starfires were both excellent at expanding, and penetration. Just my .02 cents, something to think about.
BTW, my trijicons are now 10 years old, and still glowing like the day they were installed.

Thanks Kip, No I haven't tried the Hydra Shoks on anything. I'm about due to change my ammo anyway.I know I have some of the Remington Golden Sabers here.I've had them for a long time but have been stored. Thanks for the heads up.If I'm not mistaken the FBI uses the Hydra Shok's.I figured if it was good enough for them it's good enough for me.I'll try the Remingtons. Those night sights do hold up well. Probably the best money I've spent in a long time.

RE: Glock 22 or 27???????
i carried the glock 22 on duty and off for many years and it never felt heavy at all.it also had a 15rd clip.i would have no prob with either gun.it is just a personal choice of the buyer.the 22 is by no means heavy or cumbersome.
