Assault weapon ban upheld

RE: Assault weapon ban upheld
Some people know what's going on.
The AWB is not extended, the bill (s1805) was defeated when anti-gun legislation was added to it. So it was basically a way to defeat the bill by back door means. It was good as written, but with additions it, it became bad. At that point it was defeated. THe anti-gunners beat us by adding things that would surely be defeated, but if passed would make them even happier. We have to get out there and vote this election year people. And try and convince friends/coworkers who may be apathetic to the situation to follow suit on our side.

The way I understand it, the ban hasn't been extended, yet at least...it WAS passed that the AWB extension be amended to another bill, which didn't pass, so they ok'ed it to put the AWB extension in the bag, but they threw the bag out the window.
