I am considering purchasing this gun, but I am having trouble finding a left handed slug barrel for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Remington doesn't show one on it's web site.

I have never owned a lefty gun before, but at the insistence of buddy's I have decided to give one try. Does the receiver orientation not make a difference? Is a barrel a barrel?

i am no expert or gunsmith, but they would have to be different.if you look at the barrel when it is taken from the receiver, the rh has the slot for the ejector on the right side.a lh would have to be reverse of that.the barrel cannot be turned over,it is designed to throw the shell out the right side.the bolt, barrel and receiver would have to be reverse.the stock and forearm would be the only interchangeable items i think.

Remington, Cabela's, etc.... don't show the lefty slug barrel for the 870. BUT you and I are both in luck, as the company Hastings makes the slug barrel in a lefty version for the 870.
Try this link: http://www.tjgeneralstore.com/hastings.htm
Try Hastings company, direct.... http://www.hastingsbarrels.com/
The scope mounted 870 Express LH barrel is a hot commodity and is out of stock. But the standard LH rifle barrel is in stock.
Hope this helps!!

The 870LH has the ejector port on the other side. The barrel sleeve, lock/tang gizmo, is completely reversed on the 870LH.
Trust me... A righty 870 barrel ain't gonna work in a lefty 870! [
