I huntedwith one for 7 or 8 years. Killed me first deer with it and many more. had to keep it VERY clean though or it would jam. Was a pretty good shooter and usually dropped the deer in their tracks. Some lowlife pos stole it back in 94.....I hope it blows up on them...lol. Gun shops around here wont take them on trade but there is still a good demand and the prices are good for them.

The 742 isn't very popular around here, but it has ALWAYS had a reputation of being finicky. Chamber needs to ABSOLUTELY clean for the rifle to function. No grease, no oil, no pitting.
