RE: 6.5 X 55 Swedish
I've got a 6.5X55 Swede original full size M-96, with the stock open iron sights will shoot 11/2" groups, largest; at 100yds. Using Sierra 140gr BTSP's. I've got $150 in that gun and shots as good as any "new" gun using the standard factory sights. These loads I use are for deer, coyote and plinking. Oh, I forgot to mention using IMR-4350 for these loads, my gun and two a buddy of mine has, plus another fellow he knows who also has a M-96 , seem to prefer that powder. So it is a good bet it will work for anyone else who has one.

Hey Big Ed, I am glad you are having those kind of results with your M96. I bought a Husky M96 a couple of weeks ago (1943) but I haven't started reloading for it. I just love the gun. The bayonet is on its way!

My buddy bought, I think, a 93 recently. He loves it. It weighs a ton, and is fairly long for a youngster unless you sporterized it, but it doesn't kick as much as my .222 even. We did a little testing on it, he could only find some surplus shells for her, but they mushroomed more than satisfactory for deer, and did as much damage to our target as my .270 with softpoints. She did almost as accurate at 150 yrds as I could have asked her to be too. My buddy's a lightweight, so he needed a light kicker, and it's perfect for him, albeit a little heavy for someone under 12 or 130#.
