Nikon vs. Leupold

RE: Nikon vs. Leupold
Leupold has no magic glass, but they do have a quality glass. Next time you go to your favorite gun shop, pick up a Leupold and any other competitors brand. Set the back of the scope down on a dark cloth on the counter so all light is blocked out from entering the end on the counter. Now look in the front and see is the scope sides are visible. This means glare or the actual side of the scope bell. On a Vari-X III you will not see anything except yourself in the glass. Now try the other one, there is more to a quality scope than the coating on glass. By the way, what is the warranty on Nikon? Never mind, I already know the answer to that one.

RE: Nikon vs. Leupold
FYI... Leupold glass is actually made by Sightron and is NOT manufactured in the US. I just think we get a little obsessed with the Made in the USA label. To my understanding the only major brand of scopes made completely in the USA is Burris and that is only for their upper lines. The Fullfield II is made in China. Leupolds I remember are Assembled in the US.
