I have only taken eight deer with my 25-06 and I guess I have been lucky they were all one shot kills . I tried jacketed bullets on a couple but have since gone to the Barnes 100 gr X bullets . I average around 3250 fps on my chrono and my groups are around 1" which is good enough for me .

I vote for the 100gr in a tough bullet. I use barnesX also and never had a complaint ..Bill

I said earlier that I would recommend the 120, but the 100" s in my .243 have done a great job.

If you are use a 100 grain pill make sure its a premium bullet. With a normal jacketed bullet use a 117gr or 120gr. My next bullets to try will be the new barnes triple shock 100gr. This might be the ultimate bullet for the .25-06

I shoot the Nosler 100 grain Balistic Tip. I hand load them around 3000fps. They work wonders. Althoug I have never hit the sholder, so I don' t know how they would react.
