New handgun rest - C&J Machine XP rest
A few weeks ago, I began looking into a good benchrest for specialty pistols. After doing a bit of research online, I found out about a rest made by C&J Machine that every long range handgunner who had used it seemed to love. More importantly, I found the C&J owner's email address on another site. Unfortunately, it had been posted almost ten years ago, and I feared I might not get a response. However, Mr. Davis got back to me fairly quickly.
I was told he was about to quit making them, but by a great stroke of luck he had one more frame left. I accepted his offer and bought it.
This rest is one well built machine. Used in conjunction with my homemade shooting table, this rest will no doubt form an incredibly stable shooting platform for my handguns.
It easily accommodates both my relatively compact Fireball and massive Model 460 without needing adjustment. For longer or shorter handguns, the bottom plate that holds the leather bag can be unscrewed and moved forward and back on the frame, so it can fit both my relatively diminutive 41 Magnum and the long 300 Win Mag Encore.
