No they are not.Alberta has no general muzzleloader season either.There is one very small area in western alberta that is limited to muzzleloaders and there is a three day primitive hunt at camp wainright.Shotguns or muzzleloaders are the only firearms allowed in a couple of zones near edmonton and calgary.Crossbows may only be used by handicapped people during the bow season but can be used during the rifle season by anyone.
