What projectile are you deer hunting with in your 460?
I have been shooting the 460 Flex Tips in my 460 and am wanting to use it this fall for deer hunting. But I have heard that the Flex Tips are not providing suffecient penetration. What are everyone else using and results. I have shoot several coyotes and various 5 gal buckets and oil jugs with amazing results of energy transformation. But that does not give me a reliable result. I as well have found several great loads for accuracy as well using the Flex Tips.

May not help you much but .... I have used Hornady's "Flex Tip" bullets in my 444 Marlin. I have taken only a hand full of shots at game with it ... white tail deer and feral hogs. The majority have been at distances between 30 and 75 yards, with one "long" shot at a ranged 164 yards. I have had no issues with penetration or jacket saparation. All shots have been pass throughs except the 164 yarder. That bullet was found under the skin of the opposite sie ... perfectly mushroomed.

It isn't exactly the same as your .460, but it's at least a similar class...
Deer season 2011: Marlin 1895 Guide Gun .45-70, Hornady Factory Leverevolution 325grn FTX "Flex Tip", leaves the short guide gun barrel at 1792fps. 250yrds on the nose, 310-330lb 11pt whitetail. 30" of drop to account for. Double lung and heart. Ran 5-10yrds, jumped a fence, crumpled in 15-20yrds. Blew the near lung to ribbons, heart was cut in half and mangled, top of far lung was shredded.
250yards doesn't sound like very far by today's standards, but we're not talking about high velocity bottleneck cartridges here. Lots of drop, and lots of velocity loss. Still did the job just as I expected it to do.
Stopped just beneath the skin on the far side.
Entry wound was 45cal, bled very little. Tracking obviously wasn't very hard since he only made it ~25yrds from point of impact.
He's hanging on the wall.
Have been very happy with the Hornady FTX bullet in the .44mag as well. Nothing over 50yrds in the last 2 seasons, but very good bullet performance.
My wife has also used the .357mag FTX and Critical Defense (which I understand is the same jacket and core design, just a 'clipped tip' and lower charge) for coyotes out to 40yrds with her SP-101 2.25" snubnosed revolver.
Ultimately, very happy with the Hornady Flex Tip bullets.
