Good sling, scope covers, something to hold some extra rounds of ammo, small tool kit for working on it and with which to clean it, inlcudung a bore snake/string and small amount of cleaner / lube. Maybe a lens pen and glass wipes. Those would be the basics.

As far as accessories? As already mentioned not much is needed ..... a quality scope cover, a comfortable sling and maybe a cartridge case that mounts on the stock.
In my day pack I carry a pocket sized cleaning kit and a multi-purpose tool so that if need be I can clean the rifle.

Ya know, I forgot that he did mention shooting, so in terms of accessories for the range, there are a few more things that would be nice to have and could be acquired a little at a time.
Range bag to carry stuff, and I'd hope you already had good eye and ear protection ... a collection of targets, even if home-made, markers and/or stickers to patch holes in targets to use them longer, containers for collecing brass, .. a small tarp for catching brass (if using a semi-auto anything, or a bolt that likes to fling brass.) ... spotting scope, even a cheap one will save you time. Someday maybe a chronograph. A good gun vise for cleaning and working on scopes, etc. A good staplegun, staples, map pins, masking tape , and enough screw tips for a screwdriver to handle all your scopes and such.
