Both are great Lever Actions. I prefer Bolts myself.Between the Marlin and the Winchester see which ones feels the best to you.I like the pistol grip and the side ejection on the Marlin. Not sure how the new Winchester' s are set up but the Marlin is or was easier for mounting scopes.I' ve owned both at one time and I liked the Marlins better. You might look at the Browning BLR' s.Of course they are going to cost you more then the M & W' s do.It boils down to personal preference and what your billfold will allow. If it were me buying one I would go with the Browning 1st, Marlin 2nd then the Winchester running a close 3rd.

I' d choose the Marlin also. The ones I' ve seen have been extremely accurate for a lever gun.

Now if you wanted maybe a more powerful cartridge that would shoot pointed bullets to greater distances, I' d say go with the Browning BLR.

I just wish Henry would come out with that Golden Boy in 30-30. I' d buy one of those in a heartbeat, I don' t care if it would be about $500.00.

i' m choosing the marlin too , in my experience with the both of them , the marlins feel more sturdy , and have a better advantage with them being a side eject with a smaller ejection port that helps prevent dirt and debris from falling in it when in the woods. they also have the receiver top sand blasted to prevent glare in the shooters eye , i also feel the marlins have better sights . don' t get me wrong , i like my model 94 ranger .30-30 , and model 94 bigbore .444 a lot but , i like my model 336 .35 rem , and my model 1895 .45/70 more
