Default 357 load for deer

I recently purchased a Smith 586/6in. I'd like to get some ideas on bullets for white tail. Thanks.

Even though its legal in some states, the 357 isn't the most ideal caliber for deer, except for killing wounded deer at close range, IMO. I'd look at heavy for caliber bullets. XTPs have worked good for hunting.

As Streetglide stated, it is rather on the light end. I would recommend that you look into 180grn bullets. My ex BIL took several on my property and they all dropped like a rock. Keep shots under 50yds and your good to go. PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE MORE!!!!!
