.308, How's the kick ?

RE: .308, How's the kick ?
Well, the .308 really seems to be a great all-around gun with good accuracy and without too much blast.
I must say that I'm particularly impressed with OTIS and RONM who say that their .308 would be the last gun they would give up. I've thought about that on several occasions. It's good to know which one of your firearms is most valuable to you.
FRANK: I thought that the semis kicked less than the bolts. Thanks for confirming.
PENOBSCOT: I always wear earplugs when I shoot, as I think everyone should. When I get old, I don't want to be hard of hearing if there is something I can do to prevent it.
I think it's the muzzle blast that is turning me away from the bolt .3006. Thanks.
NUNNEHI: Thanks for the good detailed info on your shooting comparison. I noticed that this was your very first post. Welcome to the board! Jump right in, the water's fine.

I just found out that the .308 I fired was a '96 German Mouser. The bullet hit the side of a pine tree. The bullet indented into the bark by 2 inches and went through it. Quite an impressive gun. Just remember to wear earplugs. It seems like it makes the ground shake when you fire it
