Whats it going to do to the wax when you get it in the sun or leave it in a car? Never thought of wax but guess it would work as long as the butt pad seals it off.How much heavier did the wax make it?I am trying to decide which I am going to use in my savage 223.

Matt, it was M-D Expanding Foam Sealant. You can get it at Home Depot. The lead balls I used were from my .54. I had a bunch and seemed like a good idea at the time. Cut down on the recoil quite a bit.

On a Mod 70 synthetic, I used 2-part epoxy and some 300gr 44 cal bullets. Of course, this has the honeycomb so I just filled in the little squares.
I have heard of using 2-part epoxy and mixing metal shavings in with it.

I' ve never added weight to any of my gunstocks.Depending how much weight you want to add. You could shove something in the stock to take up space(eg foam rubber or syrafoam. Then take some 7 1/2 shot pourng it in. Then take another filler to stop it from rolling around, before reinstalling the butt plate. This way you can easily add or take weight away.I' m sure the foam filler would work, but I personally wouldn' t use it because it will ruin the guns finish if it expands on it.Plus you' ll never be able to remove it all from inside the stock.
