Default X Bolt or Model 70

Need some help here fellas. Looking for a new hunting rifle in either 7mm-08 or 308 win. The two that I'm interested in our the Browning X Bolt Stainless & the Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather. Which one has better accuracy out the box? If you own or have shot either one please post your likes & dislikes with them.

Proud owner of a X-Bolt stainless stalker.

If the model 70 had a detachable box magazine, I'd own one of them too !

I sold my X-Bolt Hunter once I found the Winchester M70 Extreme Weather. If you go to a store and handle them side by side, I think you will find the M70 is the better built, more rugged rifle.

One thing I must admit concerning the X-Bolt is, it was very accurate and was not picky with bullet weight. The M70 is also very accurate but I have found it to be a little picky on what it likes.

I've been doing some reading around online & it seems like they are both great rifles but just comes down to how they feel to you. Going to swing by a local gun shop to see if they have both rifles to handle.

Next choice is which caliber to go with. 7mm-08 or 308 win.

How is the recoil on that .338 WM?

Is the stainless worth the extra money other than looks? Most of my hunting will take place in a deer blind & some range time. I do like the look of the stainless though just not sure if that alone will justify the extra $200.

I own an X-Bolt Hunter in the 7mm08 caliber. It's a fine caliber to hunt with. Going with a 308 or 7mm08 isn't a big difference. Both calibers are proven deer hunting rounds.
