Cheap 270?

gunsamerica.com is a good one as well...but most local shops will meat or beat an online price...remember, buying online will include shipping and likely an FFL transfer fee.

That's a pretty tight budget...especially when one considers you'll likely have to add glass...I'd save up for awhile longer and buy a little better, more reliable rifle as opposed to junk. The savage 111, Tikka T-3, Weatherby Vanguard, and Remington 700's are all good options.
I just found this Savage 111 w/ a scope. I dont have the money yet but do you guys think this would be a good buy, or is it probably beat to hell?

PLEASE do yourself a HUGE favor and stay away from the Remington model 710! Either a used Savage or a new Axis or Marlin X-7 is tons better than the 710. Also I'd recommend something like a Nikon Prostaff 3x-9x-40mm or a Bushnell Trophy 3x-9x-40mm that can usually be had on sale for 100$ or slightly less.

I just checked and Bud's gun shop has the Marlin in stock for 300$. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/i...sort/6a/page/1

Like everyone else, I want to warn you against the Remmy 710. What a piece of crap. I have a savage 111 in 30-06. A solid dependable, accurate rifle. the scope that came with it was junk. If it were me, I'd look for a used remington 700 ADL, Winchester 70 or Savage 110/111. As others have said you can usually match up a nice Nikon scope for right around 100 bucks. Refurbs off Natchez carry the full warranty.
