My 7mm AM has a capacity of 122 gr of H2o, I now have 400 rounds downrange, during load developement in 2006 I settled on a 160 accubond driven at 3575 fps by a 110 gr charge of WC872, the bullet was jammed .006 into the rifleing, once in a while while unloading a live round the bullet stuck in the rifleing and was pulled from the cartridge, I've never changed the setting on my seater die and to this day I still on occasion "pull" a bullet unloading a live round, so how bad is my throat eroding?

Lets face it, you can torch a throat in a day if ya want, take care of it and even if its life is only 1000 rounds, thats a lifetime of hunting, agreed? If ya wanna shoot 1k alot just to shoot get a fast twist 223, if ya want accuracy and energy down yonder have a good-un built!

Here's the thing. You go have a rifle built, usually takes 8month for a smith to get it done. Your miles may vary. It takes maybe 100rounds for things to settle, maybe another 100 to find your load youlike. One good year of having fun, shooting long range, and all the sudden, accuracy starts going south. You borescope and now have heat cracks in the neck. You get lapped, you lose some accuracy, might last another 300 rounds. Now your ready for a new barrel. Another 8months.

I just know when I have had my 300RUM's rebarreled, and you finally get to know your gun, things start changing.
