.243 vs 7mm-08

just joking a little,,,for pure "shooting", get you something in .204, 22-250, or 223 very easy on the shoulders, for deer the 243 is plenty though, i even like my 22-250 (not legal here though) but it'll kill a deer deader than the hammer of thor if the shooter does his part

I found on big Alberta Wt's and Mulies at 300 yards deer obsorbed perfect lung shots like it didn't even hurt.Mind you they were all found within 100 Yards but lacking knockdown power.Same deal with the .250 savage.300 yards is the MAX for deer with either a .243/6mm or .250.A 7mm-08 add another 100 yards and a much heavier bullet..............no contest.Neither round has any recoil. My kids are dropping deer with my .308 Norma Mag and .338 Win mag mostly bang flops................Harold........the mule buck in my avitar took 4 hits from a .250 under 75 yards before laying down, all rutted up with 100gr Sierra's

sounds like whatever u feel more comfortable shooting. i have a 7mm-08rem loading 139gr.interbonds out of my BLR. kicks just as much as a 308win or 30-06sprg. but i never realize the kick when that buck is in my sights
