Buckhammer slugs
Just picked up a 20 gauge 870 with a rifled slug barrel. Looking for a sabot slug thats not to spendy, thinking about picking
up the buckhammer slugs from remington. 7 bucks a box, has anybody tried these or use them? Any suggestions. Thanks

They will all make massive holes really unnecessary to kill a deer. Unless you are really trying to push the range I'd pick the most affordable one that will shoot well in your gun.
The only saboted slug I've seen not do its job is the Barnes. They simply open too big. My buddy had one take a 90 degree turn after it opened, exiting the front instead of continuing through the other lung. So that deer ran a ways. Same season I had one open on the shoulder blade and deflect without penetrating past it on a nearly broadside shot. I did end up getting the deer which is how I know exactly what happened.
