Anyone own a Norinco JW 20 .22 cal takedown rifle
I saw one of these the other day while plinking and it looks like the Browning model of same design. I tried loading and shooting the gun but noticed after loading up the gun with 10 rounds I had trouble trying to chamber the First round. It seems as if the bullet head was catching up on the ramp??? Is this common for this gun? Could a gunsmith file down the ramp making it slide in easier? After the first shot fires, the remaining bullets all seem to feed ok. We tried different brands of loads as well and it happened on all.

most norinco's cant be legaly imported to the US to im guessing you seen a old one or your a canadian. norinco was officialy banned in the US due to patent infringements but if was the saami who really got the ban going because the early models were very unsafe to shoot. it also doesnt help that pakistani war lords are having guns made under the "norinco made in china" banner. so its up to you, do you want a chinease illegal copy that might blow that might have been made by the taliban? if you dont believe me about the taliban thing go to youtube, search up worlds largest illegal gun market, go the the first video and scroll to 4 min mark.

No i dont have one of those 22.s. But i always wanted one & a M14 copy to.
Patent infringment? Never heard that before.
"ALL chinese made firearms *& ammo" was(and are) banned from import into the US by then dem prez billy clintoon in 1993 i believe- for various poltical reasons. One imo being bill is no friend to gun owners.
Course he & others gave china most favored nation trading status & we did & have imported vast vast amoumts of various other goods from them & still do.(and russia)
I think he saw it a way to git rid of a growing firearms market from asia
that was doing very well at the time- before he put a sudden stop to it.
Bet the gun grabbers gave him a big pat on the back for that one.
.................................................. .........................
That & id guess to say the firearms makers there didnt offer clintoon a big enough payoff & personal bribe to change his mind.

May i suggest you research some of these things. Because im no expert on anything- including all the gun laws/ import laws or all the various firearms in the US.
Long before there was a web/net- it was a good idea to not believe everything that was written( or said)( or st least take it with a grain of salt - look further into it- read between the lines etc etc)- it still applys now.
I will say " as far as i know" they where banned from import- in the yr i stated above. And that means just that.
Dosnt/ "does not" mean you cant own one that was bought pervious to that date or that you cant buy used ones originaly bought before that date to. As in a grandfather clause..
as far as i know.
( maybe check into it?)
I dont know why your( if you are) asking me where this guy "you know" got his gun from & who i dont know at all - i have no clue(how would i?)-Ask him. or how old it is etc to -seems like the thing to do.
(check into it/ call the atf etc?)
Should you stay away from Norincos? That is up to you id think to.
( maybe more research is called for?) i never had a problem with im.
Ya know those old sayings buyer beware & dont believe everything ya read etc .
Nothin is free - so i personally
look all gift horses in the mouth * (and maybe look inside them?
Even tho ppl always said dont.
As for that first round giving you some trouble- maybe leave that last one added out..
Sorry thats all i can suggest at this time.

Good gun
I have had one of these for a while. Not quite the fit and finish of a real Browning. But seems as reliable. Interestingly, right after they came out, an article in a gun mag compared one to a Browning. Much to the surprise of the author, the Norinco was more accurate.
