Question Never seen it.

I've never seen any Ackley Improved ammo off the shelf. With the 30/06 or 25/06 improved, I think many guys just shoot factory '06 ammo and they form the Ackley brass on the first shot. That's what my friend did with his .257 Ackley Improved.

You don't.

The great thing about the AI cartridges is that you can use the standard cartridge with often pretty good accuracy. In goes 25-06 Rem, out pops 25-06 AI. But if you don't handload, you really have no business having a rifle chambered in an AI cartridge because the only way to get the performance increase of the AI chamber, you have to be able to load beyond factory loads. If this is your rifle, it's time to invest in a handloading setup. Otherwise, the AI chamber will actually REDUCE performance compared to the standard chamber. Same amount of gas in a bigger space is lower pressure. Lower pressure is lower velocity, which is exactly the opposite of the primary objective of the AI's.

There are some custom reloaders out there who will / do reload it for ya if you want to go that route...

but actually finding some AI loads on a shelf in a store? good luck.
