sounds about right, the 7mm rem 150gr sp set at +1.5 at 100 will be 6.2 low at 300yds .so if you hold dead on the center mass of the deer at any range out to 300...you should have dinner in a couple days (meat has to hang for couple days)

Go to the Federal ammunition site and download the ballistics catalog. That will let you figure you out what amounts of hold under/hold over you are happy with. My opinion is 2.5" high at 100yds, that creates a zero at 250 yds. This setting keeps the bullet within 3" of the line of sight from 0-300 yds. At your typical range. Aim for a heart shot and all is good.

Not trying to be a smart azz,But if you have the room at the place that you sight in at.You might would try 1.5" or ( me personally) a 2 or 3 " high @ 100 yards .then try backing up @ 50 yard increments until your shots are dead on or say 4 or 5 inches low which ever you like the best then you would know for sure without a doubt what your max range would be without any hold over just in case you should ever encounter that one shot over 150 yards that everybody gets eventually but does not think they will.JMHO

Holy Carp, I can't believe guys are still yaping about sighting in a rifle. Sight the thing in for 100 yards and go hunting already. The season is almost over. Most guys cant guess what 200 yards looks like, much less 2". Too much tweaking..
