Default need help fast with gun purchase.

cabelas has a huge sale goin on on rifles....Reminngton 700 ADL Synthetic stock....which would you chose for some longer range shooting...im not talkin 800 yards or anything but something with good balistics...and good caliber for deer size game....308,270,30-06.....im leaning pretty hard on the 308 or the 30-06 since i have a 30-06 would help not having to have multiple kinds of ammo for diffrent calibers...but i have always heard a lot of great things about a 308 as well so im kinda torn between those 2 pretty bad

You mention wanting longer range and better ballistics, so there is no reason to choose 308 over 30-06 with those criteria. If you already have a 30-06 and want to extend your range some think 300WSM, 7mmWSM or similar.

i gotta 300wsm too, and i think your better off gettin the 30-06 over the 308 because they make amo fer 30-06 that does almost the same ballistics as a 308

Thats kinda what i was thinkin to was to stick with a 30-06 its a pretty good caliber to start with anyways....like i said i have one already that is a Remmington 742BDL that was my dads....love the gun and is a peach too but its the 19" carbine model and dont have the best range as some do...and also if you shoot it more than 1-2 times one after the other i think the barrel is heating up enough to throw the 3rd shot off pretty good...sometimes it will be 2" out or so at 100 and sometimes it will be 4-5" out at 100...i talked to some friends of mine that have te same gun and hes a big gun nut and had the same gun..his dad still has it and he said his will do the same thing...so i keep the gun for more of semential value than anything cause it was my dads
