Leave ammo in magazine - weakened spring?

As a LEO myself, I keep my magazines loaded for my on duty and off duty weapons. I carried a Beretta 96 with 3 magazines as a duty weapon for over 10 years without any problems. A previous poster stated that the compression/decompression is worse....that is what we have been told by the factory in the past.
