Finally, bought 22/45 today
Not sure if it is as good as the mkII but the feel was good, price even better and supposedly, the gun has the same action, but with a polymer body. At $209, seemed like a decent way to go.
Thanks for all the help.

Congratulations!! I' m sure if it' s anything at all like the MKII you' ll be happy with it. Now it' s time to find out what ammo it likes the best. My MKII seems to like the Federal Lightning' s. Good luck and let us know how it shoots.

I' m fairly certain you are correct, the actions in the MKII and the 22/45 are the same, I don' t know why they' d change it anyway, what is different is the grip frame=different angle and different material, and different feel. I' m not a big fan of polymers, but I' m one that tends to not be a fan of " black guns" or " plastic" guns, blued steel/stainless steel tickle my fancy, but you made a great choice, just having the 22/45 will make a transition to it' s big brother p-series when the time and money are right.

the main thing about the 22/45, is that the grip angle, safety, mag release, are the same as a colt/clone .45. so it is a nice gun for shooters of .45s can shoot and have the operations the same in the same places

and while i own a 22/45 and encouraged tealboy to buy one i probably wouldnt compare it to a p series ruger. maybe a 1911 , the gun it is supposed to replicate the grip of.
i only encourage those i don' t like to buy a p series ruger. unless a friend needed a expensive trotline weight.
