RE: 223 & 22-250 Shooters
I have posessed both at once at different points (not to mention the period that I had a .222, .223, .220, and the .22-250 WAY TOO MANY varminters for one guy!), and have pretty much given up on .223' s. If I ever get one again, it will be because of the gun it is in, not for its sake. The .22-250 can do everything the .223 can do, and better, maybe not " and then some" , but " better" , so there' s no reason for me to desire another .223. HOWEVER, a new Mini-14 or an AR-15 might be a bit of fun, and just happens to be chambered in the .223. I fall in love with guns like women fall in love with baby things, I would take all of them home forever if I could, but I only need one action/round combination in each category to get things done, even if a buddy needs to borrow a gun for anything we could hunt, I' d have him covered, without ever duplicating action/cartridge categories.

RE: 223 & 22-250 Shooters
Have the .223Rem in a Ruger model 77 and a AR-15 , The 22-250 in a Rem 700 and a Savage action custom .Of the four I use the Ruger 77 more than any of them .but prefer to use a 243 win loaded with a 75gr Barnes X bullet for varmits more than any of the .224 calibers .

RE: 223 & 22-250 Shooters
The 22-250 is obviously a little hotter round. I have owned both, and actually prefer the 223. I just have had better luck getting groups with the " lesser" 223. I owned a Rem 700 in 22-250, and loved it...but it wouldn' t shoot quite as well as my Savage or NEF 223. Maybe it' s the gun and not the caliber...LOL
I will say one thing...a 22-250 is a ballistic man' s dream. That' s a little screamer!

RE: 223 & 22-250 Shooters
I' ve owned a .223 M-70 and a custom .22-250 M-70 and a .220 M70 heavy barrel.
The .223 is used more than 75% of the time on prairie dogs.....it' s a easier gun to shoot, it' s cheaper and personally, I can' t tell the difference out to 250 yards in any of them. When the shooting goes past 400 I use a .243 super rockchucker.....
In my book the .223 is the finest lettle varmint round I' ve ever owned.
