Simple. Some people are ignorant, unethical, stubborn and just plain stupid enough to use it.
Two wrongs don' t make a right. Besides, how many deer hunters go with guides and trackers that carry big bores just incase things go bad? We' ve all heard the stories before about 1000 yard shots with a 30-30 and polar bears being taken with 22 Hornets. Just goes to prove that some people shouldn' t hunt. You don' t use a tack hammer to frame a house.

I, too, have seen the .243 fail on deer so many horrible times that I will never own one. And the failures I have seen have been at the hands of one of the most competent marksmen I have ever known.

Anyone who uses a .22-cal for deer must be a closet member of PETA, because they will be doing more harm to the sport of hunting than any 100 of those idiots, combined.

Ridge Runner, don' t sweat it too much I get the same thing for using a .270 elk hunting. I know it works well and has every time.
