Sig P220

Sig P220
So I picked up my first Sig yesterday. P220 .45 It is used but in very good condition. I also had the opportunity to get a Glock 10mm for $50 less and in about the same condition.....maybe just good condition instead of very good. Anyhow, I am now second guessing my decision to go with the .45 instead of the 10mm. Dont care about the brand, its the bullistic performance I am fighting with. I also thought about ammo & reloading. I thought that my .40 is too small a side arm for backup on a pig hunt so I wanted a bigger bullet. What do yall think? I got it at 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

RE: Sig P220
Either gun would have been a good purchase. The Sig 220 in .45 ACP is an excellent firearm.
While the 10mm is a more powerful round and is ideal for hunting and self-defense (the Kentucky State Police carry Glock 20s in 10mm) the availability of the round in the future is in question. If you reload then the 10mm is a viable option. Commercial made ammo is getting harder to find.
The .45 ACP can easily get the job done. Favor the heavier bullets such as the 230 grain Federal Hydroshok and the Speer 200 grain Gold Dot +P (this is a very hot load).
Congratulations on your purchase and good luck with the pigs.

I guess I couldnt really go wrong either way. It boils down to preferance. I alread have a .45 reloading die so I think thats what helped my decision. I am good with my Sig. No more buyers remorse.
