RE: problem with new handirifle
My friend has the handi rifle in 223 and he bought some cheap arse ammo in a yellow box called usmc or something for 2-3$ a box and we never had one stuck case.

How do you polish the chamber and throat? Can I just use polishing compound for a car finish or something or is there a special product for this?

RE: problem with new handirifle
I sent my 243 Win back for some work and while it was there I had it fitted with a 45-70 barrel. I was so pleased with the 45-70 that I just went out and bought a Savage 243 so I wouldn' t have to change the barrel.

Actually with the 45-70 barrel on it the weight of the rifle is not that light. I haven' t shot any hot loads in it yet, but the recoil is very manageable. My 45 muzzle loader is much worse than the H&R.

Frizzellr : Did you get the 22" barrel ,I was wondering how they were with the 22" on recoil , I have been thinking about buying a 450 Marlin with the 22' barrel. I already have the Buffalo Classic in 45-70 and was surprised how mild the recoil was with it and the 32" barrel .

I would be concerned about the pressure of those loads! I have not experienced this with my handi-rifle. I inquired as to why NEF says not to shoot 5.56NATO and this was one of the things they said could happen with them d/t high pressure.
